Carmen Tienda began her formal dance training in the Southern California region. Over the course of the global pandemic she had the opportunity to assist for Patrick Frantz, as well as becoming a dancer with HAVEN Dance Sanctuary. During the time of lockdown she had the opportunity to study under Lilian Barbeito, Barak Marshall, Jamal White, Joseph Davis, and Stephanie Martinez. She continued on to receive her BFA degree from New York University in 2024. There she studies under world renowned instructors and choreographers, including: Kyle Abraham, Netta Yerushalmy, Laja Martin, and Seán Curran. In addition, Carmen is currently on faculty for the Tisch Dance Future Dancers and Dancemakers Workshop, where she assisted in technical dance training for their high school program. Over the course of earning her degree, Carmen also developed a love for portrait and movement photography. Carmen now currently lives and work in both Los Angeles and New York.
